When I taught high school psychology I had my students do this, but half of them also had to pinch their nose as they ate.  Made it *much* harder to differentiate foods with similar textures since so much of our sense of &quot;taste&quot; is actually determined by the smell of the foods.  Neat to see how our senses are interlinked.
