We had not pulled out the liquid watercolors in a while, so the girls were really excited to make some coffee filter creations. The liquid watercolors are very vibrant, so I always dilute them with water. We did the usual dropper method:
We also tried a little crayon resist. The girls drew on the filter with a white crayon before adding watercolor, which turned out really cool:
But, our favorite was folding and dipping to make tie-dyed coffee filters. We did this until we ran out of filters! Just fold the filter in half over and over again, then dip each end in a color. For a third color, we folded our little triangle in half, and dipped again.
I need to think of something fun to do with these now. Any ideas?
By the way, I was sure our hands were going to be stained for days — but after a soak in the tub, all hands were back to normal! :)
