Remember these tie-dyed coffee filters we made?
Thanks to all your wonderful ideas, we used them for a colorful banner and made some flowers too. The favorite use, however, has been these blank books we made for drawing and writing.
I just folded the filters in half, inserted four pieces of printer paper, also folded in half, and stapled the edge. I also trimmed the corners that were sticking out. Delaney plans to fill hers with stickers (of course!) and Natalie has big plans for mermaid and fairy stories.
Happy playing!

We made our tie-dyed coffee filters yesterday after making some water color paints. The boys loved it. Thanks for such a wonderful idea.
Cute idea! We actually just did coffee filter tie-dye today, and made them into butterflies with pipe cleaners. This is a cute project for the next time we make these!
cool idea! love it gotta try it!
We love this. We’ll be linking up to this on our DIY Literacy Projects. Please stop by and visit.
I have used this idea with a large class of four year olds. I use a variation though. I am concerned about havning messes with watching so many little ones. So I use “washable” markers and a water spray bottle. The students color on the coffee filter with the markers and then we mist them. They are pleasantly surprised how the colors run together. They always come out neat. We have made flowers and butterflies. I am going to do the book idea this year too because we emphasis books in my class.
