Great-Grandma’s Quilt

by Amy on September 20, 2008

The quilt is done!  Thanks to help from my mother-in-law, I was able to finish my grandma’s 90th birthday quilt with very little stress. :)

I love using the girls’ artwork for projects like this, and we’ll definitely be doing more with the fabric pastels.

We’ll be celebrating a very special birthday today — hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Amy,
This quilt is amazing! So beautiful and contemporary. Pure genius to use long strips of fabric and your blocks. Wow! A picture of this will go on my inspiration wall for sure. A question about the pastels? How do they wash?

I’m sorta speechless about this quilt. I love it…but those words don’t quite wrap their arms around how much this quilt will probably be cherished…I love how you added in the artwork!

I love your quilt. Is it the kind of quilt a beginner could sew? I am also wondering how well the fabric pastels wash. I’ve been meaning to let my girls color with fabric markers. Are the pastels different?
