Muffin Tin Monday – Pinkalicious!

by Amy on September 8, 2008

I have been wanting to join in with the fun Muffin Tin Mondays sponsored by Sycamore Stirrings.  The girls love having meals in muffin tins, scone pans, and other divided dishes.  This week’s theme was Children’s Literature — I knew I couldn’t pass it up! :)

We chose one of the girls’ favorite books right now, Pinkalicious by Victoria & Elizabeth Kann.

We had a very pink afternoon snack when both girls got home from school:

pinkalicious

Strawberry Delight Frosted Mini Wheats, bread with strawberry cream cheese, sliced plum, cranberry raspberry applesauce (by Mott’s, no sugar added), strawberry marshmallows, slices of raspberry fruit leather, and strawberry milk.

I wanted there to be a few treats balanced with some “real” food, so this was a good compromise!  The girls loved this, and we read Pinkalicious while snacking.  We may have to choose more books and make this a Monday tradition!

If you have kiddos that enjoy this story, you can also check out the author’s website for party ideas, games, printables, etc.  Neat stuff!

And, of course, check out other fun Muffin Tin Meals based on children’s books over at Sycamore Stirrings.

Happy playing and snacking!

Love this idea! I’m tucking it away for a day when it’s just my girly girl and me at home. :)

Love this! Of course I have a boy and I don’t know that he would appreciate this particular book. But I know he would love this idea. If you do make it a Monday tradition – please do share the book and snack goodies ;)

eeekkk! This may be the cutest thing I’ve EVER seen. My oldest would flip for this book and the pink food. Your photo is AMAZING. I’m so very glad you joined it.
Great tin, Great theme, Great book -

How fantastic is that!! I can’t wait until my youngest is old enough for this. I guess my 11 year old daughter would get a kick out of it too.

Your muffin tin is just so adorable! My girls and I love this book and had an entire “pinkalicious” day with games and songs (and some yucky green stuff just so we didn’t turn pink). It was a lot of fun. I can’t wait to do a Muffin Tin Monday. Thanks for the inspiration.

I LOVE that tin! Where did you get it?
“Pinkalicious” is one of my daughter’s favorite books. Great muffin tin “lunch”. :) I know my girls would have been over the moon if they’d gotten that for lunch!
