Way back in the summer, the girls assembled and decorated some simple wood tool caddies with Daddy. Natalie had made one at a birthday party, and we decided to do the project again so Delaney could have one of her own.
Daddy cut the pieces and pre-drilled the holes for the screws. The girls had a lot of fun with the screwdriver, putting their caddies together. Then the real fun started – painting!

Giving a tool caddy kit would be such a fun gift! You could even include a small tape measure, screwdriver, level, etc. Of course, these would be great for art supplies, too!
We’re off to watch Natalie’s school do a little holiday program tonight. Hope the holidays are treating you well!

I love the art supply idea. How about baking supplies? We just had a cookie party yesterday; a child toting one of these filled with sprinkles would be too cute.
Very awesome! I read a lot of your stuff in my reader, but I wanted to let you know about this challenge I am starting soon: http://www.bosssanders.com/2008/12/18/creative-geniuses-or-something-like-that/
Forgive me for posting a link, but I know you like crafts as much as I do and I really want to get the word out and thought you’d like it maybe? It’s something you could possibly do with the kids, too!
Great, creative, and useful gift! I love it!
