My girls love rainbows! We have stacks of rainbow drawings and paintings around here, and we even saw three rainbows on our recent drive home from Disneyland. So, with rainbows on our minds, I thought we would explore some rainbow crafts, science, books, and even snacks. Maybe we’ll even find a leprechaun and his pot of gold…
Make a rainbow fruit salad using your kids’ favorite colorful fruits: strawberries, watermelon, oranges, pineapple, green grapes, kiwi, blueberries, purple grapes, plums, etc. Serve with a dollop of vanilla yogurt or whipped cream clouds!
Go on a rainbow scavenger hunt – inside, outside, or both!
Do some rainbow writing.
Make a giant rainbow marker – use a rubber band to hold red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple markers together. Color with your crazy rainbow marker!
Make rainbow tie-dye coffee filters with watercolors and droppers.
Draw or paint a rainbow and what you think you might find at the end!
Read some rainbow-inspired books. We like Planting a Rainbow by Lois Ehlert, All the Colors of the Rainbow (Rookie Read-About Science)
, and A Rainbow of My Own
by Don Freeman.

Thanks! I’m planning on incorporating rainbow learning into our plans in March. Great ideas!
