Have you tried making spin art in a salad spinner yet? It’s so fun! Last week at preschool, I was in charge of the spin art station. Instead of round paper cut to fit the salad spinner, we made hearts.
The how-to is simple: Put your paper in the spinner. Squeeze/drop/dribble on some paint – slightly watered-down tempera works great. Now, put the lid on and spin, spin, spin!

Take the lid off and ooh and ahh over the finished product. Have lots of paper ready, ’cause this activity begs to be repeated over and over and over again.

Happy creating!

yes!!!
we were actually given a “real spin art” wooden wheel and yes, we go through A LOT of paper.
the heart shape is a great idea.
how do you get the heart to stay in place? tape?
How beautiful!
A salad spinner! What a great idea! I think that would be a lot of fun. I’ve done spin art before with a spinning machine, but this is much better, cheaper, & low tech.
Thanks for the idea
What a fun twist (heh heh)! Thanks for sharing! I’ll have to head out to the thrift store to reclaim my old, cheap salad spinner (unwilling to donate my pretty Oxo)
I really like these. I hope I don’t sound too stupid, but what is a salad spinner, and where does one get one? Thanks.
thanks so much for the idea, I had a salad spinner that broke, but I’m going to get one of the hundred’s I’ve seen in the thrift stores lol to do this with my daughter, thanks
do you know how you could make this without a salad spinner?
