Fun With Clipboards

Have you made any Mini Clipboards yet? There’s something about walking around with a clipboard and pencil that makes my girls feel like they are doing important work! As promised, here are a few fun things we like to do with our mini clipboards:

Surveys and Checklists

  • a running log of birds seen in the yard
  • asking family and friends whether they prefer apple juice or orange juice
  • daily weather reports

List-making

  • grocery lists
  • party planning (real or pretend)
  • wish lists
  • favorite things
  • names of family and friends

Sketching and note-taking on nature walks

Pretend Play

  • taking orders in a restaurant
  • writing prescriptions in a doctor’s or vet’s office
  • making inspection notes for a construction project (think block towers…)

I’m sure there’s lots more ways we use them, but the girls are sleeping and I hate to wake them up to help me remember!

Hope you had some time to play this weekend!

We haven’t made them yet, but they are on my list of rainy day things to do. And when they’re made, I’ll be taking one or two of them in my ‘Grammy bag’ on Sunday mornings.
