Color Diffusing Flowers

We have a beautiful new decoration hanging in our playroom:

Natalie and I made this using Color Diffusing Flower Shapes, watercolors, pastels, and plain water in droppers and spray bottles. The color diffusing paper is similar to working with coffee filters, but a bit thicker and sturdier. For some of the flowers we did a resist, with pastel designs first, followed by painting on watercolors. On other flowers, we colored the flowers with washable markers, then dropped, painted, and sprayed plain water onto the design. So fun to watch the colors swirl and mix!

These are sturdy enough to tolerate a good amount of paint and water. When dry, you could further embellish with glitter, sequins, etc. I ran these flowers through my sewing machine and made one long string to hang from the ceiling. It looks so pretty!

Have a lovely weekend!
