Coloring Fun with Mandalas

by Amy on May 28, 2009

We’re mostly the plain paper type of colorers around here – we like to do our own thing! However, my kiddos are loving spending some time with sharp colored pencils and simple mandalas. We all find it relaxing and rewarding to color these lovely geometric circular designs. (You can read more about the meditative use of mandalas at Wikipedia.)

We have two books of simple mandalas that we enjoy. Instead of coloring in the book, I like to make copies of the pages so we can use them over and over again!

I like to keep a few mandala copies on a clipboard in the car, along with a box of colored pencils. Great for car trips, waiting rooms, and just waiting in general.

Happy coloring!

Thanks for the idea and the links. I think my 6-year-old would love doing this…

very cool. I just picked up some clipboards for the kids for the car; we have a big trip coming up. I’ll have to get one of these books. thanks!
