Circus Party Details

by Amy on July 20, 2009

Delaney will be five tomorrow!  We are busy planning and prepping for this weekend’s Dumbo Circus party she requested.  We’re trying to keep it simple and inexpensive, while still meeting all her party requirements!  Here’s a few of the details that are ready to go:

Invitations – I was inspired by these to create a simple ticket-style invitation.  I also had to incorporate some simple Dumbo and Timothy Mouse clip art to keep the birthday girl happy!  Fonts I used were Circus and Carnivalee Freakshow.

Bubbles – We’ll be having a few carnival-style games with a bucket of prizes at each station.  I’m trying to keep the prizes simple and useful (or edible!).  We raided my scrapbooking paper stash for colorful prints and added a simple strip of paper to cover up the labels on these inexpensive bottles of bubbles.

Paper Cones – These will hold popcorn at the Concessions table.  More scrapbooking paper at work!  I’m going to make Pink Party Popcorn (and possibly purple, too!).  I will stand them up in a block of foam with skewers (idea from here).

Magic Feathers – This was Delaney’s idea, to make magic feathers like Dumbo had in the movie.  Daddy cut out these wood feathers with the scroll saw — aren’t they awesome?  I know the kids will love decorating these with paint and glitter.  We’ve got Daddy busy with some cardboard cut-out decorations, too….

I’ll share more of our ideas as I get them finished!  Back to work…. :)

This is a great party Theme.
We are really big on birthdays and celebrating with theme parties. Well not so much lately, but we did a lot last year and before that.
Enjoy the day
God Bless

Oh what fun. We recently went to the circus and my little girl has a new found love for the circus.

The feathers are such a unique and creative idea. Your guests are in for a real treat.

I love the feathers! They make me want to buy a scroll saw:)

Please post a pic of the popcorn. I can’t wait to see how that turns out.

She will love her party!
