Today’s All-You-Can-Create Menu:

  • Various paint brushes
  • Paper (we used finger painting paper)
  • Toothbrushes
  • Bubble wrap (wrapped around a wooden block)
  • Washable tempera paint
  • A large palette (we used a lid from a plastic storage container)

Coming tomorrow: We’re cutting-up all of today’s artwork to make some groovy turkey feathers!

I’m a preschool teacher, and I love this idea for open-ended creation. You’re offering some great tools, too! I hope we’ll get to see the finished turkeys!

This is so cool! I can’t wait to set up a painting buffet for my girls. I’m excited to see the turkey feathers.

I love all the different tools that you had at your disposal. Oh how I wish you shipped to Australia. We would love to buy some of these for our art and craft cupboard.

Hi,
I love the beautiful picutures you posted of the creative art materials you used. I am writing to ask you permission to use them. I am doing a workshop for child care providers on the process of art and these would work wonderful as an example on a handout. Would that be ok? I will site to your web page on the handout.

How neat! What are the white and black brushes? They look like pieces of some kind of foam wrapped around a piece of cardboard and fringe cut at the bottom. Am I close?

Hi Linda – Yes, they are called Floppy Foam Brushes and they are basically foam panels with “fringe” that you can roll in a tube and secure with a rubber band, or roll around things like cardboard tubes, wood blocks, tennis balls, etc. They are really fun and easy to clean up, too!
