Kids in the Kitchen: Apple Dip

by Amy on April 9, 2010

Happy Friday Night!  The girls and I wanted to share a sweet and yummy dip to serve with sliced apples. We love making this apple dip for parties or playdates – or Friday afternoons!

Apple Dip

  • 8-oz package of cream cheese, softened
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Mix ingredients till creamy (We use our electric hand-mixer).  Chill for a few hours (or overnight) and enjoy with sliced apples or other fruit.

Optional:  You can stir in some chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, etc.) if you like.

This dip also makes a delicious frosting for apple or pumpkin muffins – yum!

I’m thinking we also need to make this Nutella Cream Cheese Fruit Dip for a side-by-side comparison… :)

Have a great weekend!

Thanks for sharing this. It looks tasty. I also really like the pattern of whatever’s under the plate in the picture.

Might try this with about half the amount of sugar.

I think you could easily cut back on the sugar and it would still taste delicious!
