Road Trip!

by Amy on May 3, 2010

Hi there!  We’re heading for Disneyland this week, so I’ll be taking a little bloggy break to enjoy some family time.  Can’t wait!

I wanted to share the one crafty thing I made for our trip – water bottle totes for the girls!

I used a wonderful tutorial from The Long Thread and just made the totes shorter to fit the girls’ small Sigg bottles.  Also, my hubby had the brilliant idea to make the totes “neck-high” on the water bottles, so the girls don’t even have to take their bottles out of the totes to drink.  I’m hoping this means they will carry their own bottles most of the time – we’ll see! :)

We’ve got lots of car activities packed for our long drive – Mad Libs, coloring, Leapsters, stickers, I Spy Books, auto bingo, books on CD, and of course, snacks!  (If your family is road-tripping soon, I have a list of more on-the-go activities you could check out.)

After many excited giggles and whispers, the girls are finally asleep and I’m on my way next – see ya back here next week!

These are wonderful! I see some sewing in my future. Can I ask where you found the cotton tape? I’ve been looking for it everywhere. Enjoy your trip!

I found it at Joann’s in two locations – on spools where you could buy it by the yard and in the prepackaged trims (with the quilt bindings and ric-rac). Hope that helps! :)

Drinking in style! Hopefully you’re taking some business cards along for all the people that comment on them and wish to order one. ;)
