What fun it was to watch our tiny caterpillars grow and grow and make their debuts as butterflies. The girls were enthralled with the whole process – it is quite magical, isn’t it?
The timing was just right – we were able to release three of the butterflies at our old house, on our last day there. One chrysalis traveled with us to the new house and the butterfly was released there the next day.
Sometimes the butterflies zoom right out of their temporary home and sometimes they need a little coaxing. This group of Painted Ladies definitely needed some coaxing! Natalie wasn’t feeling quite brave enough to hold one, but Delaney decided to go for it. She loved holding the butterflies and misses them quite a bit.
{You can find the Live Butterfly Garden at Insect Lore (with live caterpillars) or Amazon (with a mail-in voucher for caterpillars). I’ve also seen it recently at Target and our local toy store.}
Hope you are having a magical summer so far!

This looks like SO much fun. I wonder if I can get these in Australia. Off to look. Thanks for sharing.
We have the same live butterfly garden but haven’t ordered our caterpillars yet. I’m looking forward to the process but am a little nervous about keeping them alive.
We’re doing a “Creative Summer Activities” blog hop. Would love for you to link some of your favorites up so we can send some traffic your way!
