Somehow my suggestion of making a stuffed ornament for the Christmas tree turned into both girls making softie gingerbread families – for a total of 10 stuffed toys!
Even though I wanted to moan and groan about the sewing and the turning and the stuffing and the hand-sewing, I’m sure glad that I said, “Yes, we can make gingerbread families!” The girls loved doing this project and have played with their little gingerbread families every day.
The ones at the top are Delaney’s – she made our family, including our dog, Lola. The dog is adorable! She went for sewn on button eyes and embroidered mouths – mostly done by me with her supervision… :)
Natalie made a dad, mom, sister, brother, and baby – equally cute!
The girls drew their gingerbread people on muslin with fabric markers. The backs are printed fabrics from our scrap bin. I sewed and turned, and they stuffed. Another project completed during our busy December.
Maybe I’ll get stuffed ornaments from them next year!
