We made this quick monogrammed fleece scarf for a friend’s 8th birthday – I hope she is enjoying it! I was inspired by WhiMSy love’s reverse applique beanbags and Noodlehead’s fleece neck warmers – both with great photos and tutorials.
I started with two pieces of blue fleece – they measured 6″ x 52″.
On one of the fleece pieces, I cut out the M and pinned a scrap of pattered fabric behind it.
Using the sewing machine, I sewed around the M twice. I didn’t worry about my stitching being too perfect…
Then, I pinned the two pieces of fleece wrong-sides together and sewed around the whole scarf. I left about 4 inches on each end to cut fringe. Again, I sewed around two times, letting my stitching cross and be a little messy.
Last step was cutting the fringe. Done! This was a quick project and turned out so cute. Of course, the girls want their own monogrammed scarves now!
Hope you are staying warm and enjoying December!

Adorable and so simple, i think the kids could help me whip out a few of these during the winter break
cute idea. i made fleece blankets for my kids this year and i’ve got some extra material. scarves would make a great addition.
Great idea! I’m going to try this reverse monogram idea for pillows. Thanks!
