What We’re Reading
Summer plans for cooking, crafting, and experimenting are shaping up around here. These books seem to have the most pages marked right now, by girls and mom alike:
Honest Pretzels and Pretend Soup – I’m sure I’ve mentioned Mollie Katzen’s amazing children’s cookbooks before – we just love them! The step-by-step picture instructions are perfect.
Science in Seconds for Kids: Over 100 Experiments You Can Do in Ten Minutes or Less – The title says it all – quick & easy science fun!
Sewing School – A wonderfully kid-friendly book! We’ve already made the doll skirts and can’t wait to try more projects.
365 Things to Make and Do – This book has a wide-variety of crafts, art techniques, and other creative projects. Loads of fun!

I really enjoy your ideas – thank you! I need to get hold of Pretend Soup for my son. He has recently shown an interest in making things in the kitchen himself – even brought me breakfast in bed yesterday – gotta love cheerios and OJ on a cookie sheet!
Thanks for the comment, Julie! Love your breakfast in bed – so sweet. You and your son will definitely love cooking with Pretend Soup. Have fun!
Thanks so much for the link! I also loved that post from The Artful Parent and starred it in my feed reader.
You are very welcome!
