It’s March, the month of leprechauns and the change to Spring. Seems like the perfect time for an art collage of all things green!
This week: Green Collage
Materials:
I love using a muffin tin to arrange all the art goodies for creating. See how many green art supplies you can gather from around the house:
- construction paper
- tissue paper
- patterned scrapbook paper
- felt
- craft foam sheets
- crayons
- markers
- colored pencils
- dot/bingo markers
- paint
- pipe cleaners
- pom poms
- buttons
- beads
- yarn/ribbon
- stickers
- green masking tape
- glitter or glitter glue
- green glue (white glue + green paint)
Set out this green buffet and let the kids go for it!
My girls made some abstract art, as well as some cute leprechaun girls. I think the green glue, green pom poms, and various green scrapbook papers were their favorite supplies this time around.
For more green fun, try writing your own Green Poems. Young kids can dictate to a grown-up, and big kids can write their own.

Happy playing!
I love your free play collages. You’ve inspired me to do this more often with my own kids. I like the idea of adding a writing prompt with it too.
What a great idea….thanks for the inspiration.
Green collage is a great idea. You made me think of collecting “green” nature items on our walk to use with an art activity later. That would be really fun.
Sounds like a great idea! That would be fun to do for the first day of Spring coming up, too. :)
