Each issue of Playful Picks includes links to projects and articles, a peek at what we’re currently reading, and creative products for kids. I’ll also be linking to one or two past posts at Let’s Explore – after 4+ years of blogging, the archives are getting deep around here!
Happy playing!

What We’re Reading
We’re usually book first-movie second type people, but the girls just watched Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory for the first time. Natalie promptly added the book to her wish list, and I have a feeling she’ll be working her way through all of Roald Dahl’s books over the next few months.
I know she’ll love the dual-novel, The Complete Adventures of Charlie and Mr. Willy Wonka, maybe followed by Matilda or James and the Giant Peach. Or maybe The BFG? So many fun ones to dig into to. (Roald Dahl has a pretty cool website, too!)
Creative Products
Delaney is the aspiring inventor in our house. She’s always constructing contraptions with boxes, cardboard tubes, yarn, and tape. Lots of tape!
I think she would enjoy the challenge of the Mindware KEVA Contraptions kit, which contains 200 wooden planks and an idea book for creating funnels, chutes, ramps, and more. Recommended for ages 7+.
