Happy last weekend of 2012! As you may remember, one of the Christmas gifts we gave our girls last year was A Year of Dates – 12 one-on-one date coupons with either Mom or Dad, one for each month. Our parent/child date coupons were downloaded over 10,000 times – wow! Were you one of the families that gave this a try in 2012?
Our girls have told us numerous times that, hands-down, this was the best gift they received. There was so much anticipation and excitement as we opened our envelopes throughout the year!
During these dates we’ve sewed teddy bear blankets, climbed big rocks, chatted about books at the bookstore, hiked to waterfalls, and so much more. Most of all, we’ve talked and listened. I think what I love most about having time with each of my girls one-on-one is that they feel seen, heard, and cherished. What better gift is there than that?
I didn’t quite get my act together to present them with another round of dates at Christmastime. However, we will be surprising them with their stacks of envelopes on New Year’s Eve. We’ll be kicking off 2013 with another year of dates – and I can’t wait!
I’m hoping you will join us this year, so here’s my New Year’s gift to you – a whole new download full of parent-child date coupons! This 17-page pdf includes:
- 30 different dates
- a mom and dad coupon for each date
- many free and low-cost date ideas
- a page of blank coupons for adding your own date ideas

You could spend a half-hour this weekend choosing and printing your dates, and be ready to surprise your kiddos on New Year’s Eve, too. My girls will be starting off the year with fancy cake baking and a frozen yogurt outing for our January dates – shh, don’t tell!
Here’s to a beautiful 2013!

Thanks! I love the idea of this, but didn’t get it implemented last year. My kids are now 3 and 5, and I want to start before they are too much older, because I see a need for this one-on-one time. So often it is me with both kids or the 4 of us. I appreciate your sharing your ideas and coupons! Happy 2013!
Thank you! We like to have dates with our girls but we’ve never used coupons before. My girls will love these!
Love this idea! Thanks for sharing.
What a wonderful idea. Whenever I see your blog in my Google Reader I know I will find something good.
What a fabulous idea! Thanks so much for generously sharing your awesome printable! I featured your printable as a Free Printable of the Day at the Living Montessori Now Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/LivingMontessoriNow (and on Pinterest)
Many Thanks! We were just discussing today about collecting ideas for Sunday family times, these coupons are wonderful!
You’re so welcome – enjoy your family dates!
Wow! Thank you soooo much. My kiddos will love this!
