The Heart Behind the Trails
The journey of Kids Who Explore began with a simple, rebellious thought on a rocky trail in the Canadian Rockies: Motherhood doesn't mean the adventure is over.
Too often, society whispers (or shouts) that having children means trading hiking boots for slippers, and mountain peaks for living room carpets. But we fiercely believe that nature isn't a place you escape to away from your kids—it's the ultimate playground to raise them in.
What started as one mother's determination to keep hiking with her baby has blossomed into a global campfire. Today, we are a passionate community providing families with the courage, gear, and knowledge to step outside.
Our philosophy is unwavering:
Empower parents to let the wilderness be their co-parent.
We find our truest selves under the open sky. We're raising a generation that will too.
Reframing Motherhood Outdoors
Hello fellow wanderers, welcome to the community! I'm Adrianna, the founder of this wild movement. I built this space because I desperately needed it myself.
When I was pregnant and stubbornly still hiking my favorite local trails, the idea for Kids Who Explore took root. I wanted to create a judgment-free zone where we could swap trail-tested survival tips, organize local meetups, and prove that you can still summit mountains with a diaper bag.
Whether you're joining our virtual workshops, sporting our gear, or just lurking for inspiration, I'm thrilled you're here. Let's redefine what family time looks like, one muddy puddle at a time.
The Spark That Started It All
Back in 2020, amidst global uncertainty, Adrianna found solace where she always did: the trails. Hiking while pregnant alongside her best friend, she realized the sheer lack of resources for parents who didn't want to give up their outdoor lifestyle.
The narrative was loud: "Stay inside. The woods are too hard with kids." That frustration was the catalyst. She envisioned a global network of families supporting each other to break through that fear barrier.
What began as a small Instagram page exploded into a lifeline for thousands. We launched global trail cleanups, virtual mileage challenges, and an ambassador program that now spans continents. Want to hear the raw, unfiltered origin story? Tune into our first podcast episode.
