This is a supportive space for parents, and we protect that vibe fiercely.
If you're coming to a real-life meetup, just be cool. Help other moms out, don't leave trash on the trail, and bring snacks. Snacks are the ultimate peace offering. If you violate the cardinal rules of being a decent human being, you won't be invited back.
To be completely honest, it's just like a normal conversation where I tell you that joining our meetups is totally at your own risk. We try to pick safe trails and good locations, but Mother Nature is wild and unpredictable. If you trip over a root or get caught in a rainstorm, we can't really be held responsible for that. You're in charge of your own safety and your kids' safety when you're out there in the wild.
We are not certified wilderness survival experts, we are just moms who like to walk in the woods. So please bring a first aid kit, pack extra water, and don't try to pet the bears. Seriously, leave the bears alone.

So please don't just copy and paste everything and pretend it's yours. If you want to share something, that's awesome, just give us a little shoutout or link back to us. We're totally cool with sharing, just don't steal. It's bad karma anyway.
If you do steal our stuff, we'll have to send you a very strongly worded email. We don't want to hire lawyers, because lawyers are expensive and they don't use emojis in their emails. So just play nice.

We don't control those other sites. If you click a link and it takes you somewhere weird, we can't fix that for you. Always use your own judgment when clicking around the web.

Anyway, moving right along to something else that popped into my head... consequences. If you break these rules, we can basically ban you from the site and the group. We don't want to do that. It's way more fun to just be friends. But if you force our hand, we will protect the community first and foremost.
If you feel like you were banned unfairly, you can appeal. Send us an email, explain your side of the story, and we'll listen. We are reasonable people capable of admitting when we are wrong.
I don't want to bore you to tears, but legally we kinda have to mention that if a giant meteor hits our servers and the website goes down, we aren't liable for any massive financial ruin it causes you. Mostly because you shouldn't be relying on a hiking website for your financial stability anyway! But jokes aside, the site is provided "as is" and we can't guarantee it will be perfect 100% of the time.
If the site crashes, just go outside. That's the whole point of this network anyway. Take a walk, breathe some fresh air, and by the time you get back, we'll probably have the servers running again.
